What is Facial Rejuvenation?
Facial Rejuvenation treatment is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the face and body. The treatment will increase the blood flow and energy through the skin in that area, hydrating, pumping up and boosting the skin's supply of nutrients and oxygen. This decreases the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes. In today's culture of plastic surgery and botox injections, Facial Rejuvenation with acupuncture offers a safer, more holistic method of reducing the signs of ageing. Though Facial Rejuvenation with Acupuncture can sometimes be referred to as an Acupuncture Facelift or Cosmetic Acupuncture, it is more than a cosmetic procedure. It is a rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger.

What will happen on my first visit?
During your first visit a full consultation including medical history of yourself, your diet, and lifestyle will be discussed. This will help in assessing and analysing the most effective course of treatment. Each person responds differently, depending on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to treatment. Once a strategy has been decided, then Acupuncture takes place.
Treatment
Needles are inserted into specific areas of the face to increase the flow of blood and collagen production which in turn decreases signs of ageing and tiredness such as baggy eyes and wrinkles.
The hair-thin needles will be applied to your face, lower legs and arms at specific points which vary according to the individual. The treatment is not painful although some clients experience a tingling sensation as the Acupuncturist "taps" the needles in. Some clients do witness a visible improvement after their very first session but results will naturally vary dependent on the individual. After approximately 6 treatments, you can expect to see improved skin tone/texture and you will have a general sense of improved "well being". Each person responds differently, depending on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to treatment.
How often will I need treatment?
Each treatment takes 1½ hours. A course of six weekly treatments is recommended. Maximum results are achieved with monthly follow up treatment to maintain results.
Between Treatments
Gentle yet effective cleansing and moisturising between treatments will maximize the benefits of facial rejuvenation. Please note that not all areas of the face require additional moisture. We do, however emphasize keeping the eye area moisturised. Also consuming 6-10 glasses of water per day will provide extra moisture and it is very beneficial to hydrate a few days before treatment as it increases the conductivity. In addition, we highly suggest re-hydrating after each treatment.
